“The righteous are as bold as a lion.” – Proverbs 28:1
There’s something powerful about people who walk boldly. You can see it in the way they speak, the way they carry themselves, and the way they respond to challenges. But here’s the truth; boldness doesn’t just happen. It’s not reserved for a special few. It’s a habit you can develop, nurture, and walk in daily.
What Is Boldness?
Boldness isn’t arrogance. It’s not about being loud or forceful. True boldness is courage wrapped in conviction. It’s about stepping out in faith even when your knees are shaking. It’s about standing firm in who you are, what you are, and what you’ve been called to do even when it’s uncomfortable.
Why Boldness Matters
Many people stay bound not because they lack potential, but because they lack boldness. Fear whispers, “What if it doesn’t work?” but faith responds, “What if it does?” If you want to move from bound to bold, you must choose to live boldly on purpose and with purpose.
Boldness Must Be Practiced
Here’s the thing: boldness doesn’t become a lifestyle overnight. It must be practiced daily until it becomes part of who you are. Just like a muscle, the more you use it, the stronger it grows.
1. Start with Your Words
Speak boldly about who you are in Christ. Declare God’s promises over your life.
Try this declaration each morning:
“I am bold, courageous, and filled with purpose. I will not be silenced by fear. Today, I walk in faith.”
2. Challenge Comfort Daily
Growth and comfort cannot coexist. Each day, do something small that pushes you outside your comfort zone, whether that’s speaking up in a meeting, posting that blog you’ve been delaying, or applying for that opportunity.
3. Pray Bold Prayers
Ask big. Believe big. Bold prayers show you trust in a big God.
When you pray, say things like:
“Lord, give me boldness to obey You, boldness to believe again, and boldness to move when You say move.”
4. Act Even When You Feel Afraid
Boldness is not the absence of fear, but the decision to move forward despite it.
Don’t wait to “feel ready.” Boldness is built in action.
5. Stay Around Bold People
Surround yourself with people who stretch you, challenge you, and inspire bold action. Watch how their fire lights up your own.
You Were Created for Boldness
Boldness is not just for the stage or the spotlight. It’s for the quiet choices you make every day, choices that align with your calling, your identity, and your assignment. God is calling you to live boldly, speak boldly, love boldly, and lead boldly.
The more you practice boldness, the more natural it becomes. Before long, you’ll look back and realize that the shy, hesitant version of you has been replaced by a courageous, purpose-driven believer who dares to live fully.
Your Turn:
What’s one bold habit you’ll start practicing today?
Drop it in the comments or write it down in your journal.
And remember: you were never meant to stay bound. You were made to live bold.
